Is Time Keeping You Stuck?

Nov 15, 2022

We go through life thinking we have so much time. We put things off, thinking, “I’ll do it later." How many times have you, in your business or in your personal life, said you’ll do it later? Have you done it yet? That, my friends, is what is keeping you stuck in your overwhelm.

On last week’s podcast episode I talked about being in a box. Well, I was talking about not being in a box, but just for context, for those of you who may not have caught that one.

Often, we go through life compartmentalized in a certain box. We are a mom and a dad in this box. When we compartmentalize, different facets of your personality come out in different places. It’s not wrong, but I’m going to offer a different perspective.

What if we just got rid of the boxes? Who would you be? For myself, this is something that is a process that I'm forever going through, and what I found fascinating is that as I'm starting to remove the boxes, I'm noticing more and more that I have an old soul!

I feel like I have all the time in the world - so I put things off thinking I have plenty of time. I feel like I have so much experience innately built in because my soul is so old, in my opinion, I feel like in this lifetime, I have time to do all the things that I wanna do.

Are you not doing all the things to move yourself forward because you think you have time? I'll get to it later.

Well, that's a bunch of bullshit. I'm calling myself out. And if that resonates with you, I'm going to call you out too. It's bullshit! We don't have that kind of time. I have this misguided sense that I have time to do things, but my body, this vehicle that my soul has chosen for this lifetime, hasn't expired. But it will. We just don’t know when. So let's deal with reality.

What is all the sh*t that you keep telling yourself that you have time for, that you'll get to “one of these days," that infamous "tomorrow," that's going to come sometime out there?

Someday—no date, no specificity, nothing. It's just this enigmatic day we call tomorrow.

I'm also guilty of waiting for tomorrow—the infamous tomorrow. We all do it. This is a heavy topic, right? Realizing that we all have an expiration date but don't know when it is So what are you going to do with the time that you have?

What are you doing with your life right now? Is there a goal?

Let’s go back to the boxes we built for ourselves. Who would you be if you got rid of all the boxes and just showed up as you, in all your glory, in all your might, in all your good, bad, and ugly, whatever that is for you?

You would probably be a more turned-up version. You would probably be all in on going after your dreams. You would probably be a freaking badass because I feel like, if you're in my world, there's a grit to you. This conversation is asking you to really identify who you are if you were to remove all the boxes.

It’s a scary process to start unraveling all the lies and bullshit stories we’ve told ourselves. The biggest lie we tell ourselves is that we have time.

Who would you be if you showed up in all of your greatness? No boxes. Just you.

How do you start showing up as yourself?

Remember your imagination as a child? You would create a whole separate world, right? I mean, I was guilty of it. I had my own language. I would speak in this world. I had this fantastic idea. Well, I won't bore you with all the details, but it was a really cool world. I lived in my imagination. What if you allowed yourself to go into that space?

What would you want? I know much of my audience is made up of business owners. If you showed up at your greatest potential as your greatest self, what would that do for you and your business? What would that mean for all the people you affect?

I’m asking you lots of questions, but only you can answer them. I can definitely guide you. I can definitely help push you. I can definitely provide you with all of the strategy and tactical aspects of building. And for sure, if that's something in which you're interested, let me know. You can send me a direct message on Facebook or Instagram. I handle the majority of my personal messages, so you will hear from me.

Who would you be, and what would you look like? What would you do? I am going to encourage you to get curious, like when you were a child. If you were to allow your imagination the freedom and space to create, what would you create? For me, this podcast has been that thing. It offers me the freedom to not necessarily talk about anything specific, even though I obviously touch on very clear points about mind, body, and soul.

Turn it into a game

Turning it into a game bypasses your thinking brain and allows you to use your creativity and imagination to get into action. The best advice I can give you today, tomorrow, or any day is to go all in on yourself, because mountains will move the moment you fully support yourself and have your own back.

So start realizing that even if you have an old soul like me, our time in this body in this incarnation is limited. What are you going to do? What kind of person are you going to be? What are you going for?

Start asking yourself the better questions, the bigger questions, and start with: "If I removed all of the boxes, who am I and what am I going to do with this one wild, beautiful life?" If you need support, please send me a direct message. I would love to connect with you and help guide you on this path. Send me a direct message on Instagram or Facebook

I am excited. I hope this moves you. It doesn't matter if it's business or personal. I don't care how it moves you. I want it to move you and propel you to understand that the time is now; there is no fucking tomorrow.
